Biography:

Makarisira is a lecturer at The University of Zimbabwe in The Department of Applied Psychology from February 2012 to date. He specialised in Industrial Psychology in a number of areas which include: recruitment and selection, innovation and creativity, training needs identification, performance management, employee motivation, job and task analysis, assessment centres, organisational relations, conflict and dispute resolutions, team building, cultural diversity, consumer psychology, ergonomics. Have worked for more than 9 years in the civil organizations as a researcher, has successfully completed a number of large-scale research and capacity building projects for various local organizations. Has vast experience in planning and executing public opinion surveys, market research and service delivery. He has special skills in
• Sample determination and sampling for large scale studies
• Designing effective quantitative data collection tools,
• Recruiting, training and monitoring of fieldworkers
• Designing electronic data collection instruments using ODK/Kobotoolbox
• Cleaning quantitative data
• Producing high quality reports and dissemination of results
Having worked for research organizations for more than a decade, I have developed keen interest in political psychology focusing on political behaviour.
Makarisira has worked for some more years as a qualitative researcher, designing qualitative research instrument, training and monitoring fieldworkers in conducting In-depth interviews and focus group discussion of many organizations. Has hands-on experience with FGDs facilitation, translations and analysis of qualitative data. He has special skills in
• Qualitative data Collection
• Interviewer training and supervision
• Qualitative tool Development
• Forward and back translations
• Conducting of qualitative studies using methods such as Focus Group Discussions, Key Informant Interviews and In-Depth Interviews.
